Default Alternator diy on HR questions.

Stupid alternator is whining. I already have a new one. My uncle rebuilds them so got a rebuilt one for free. Anybody done this on an HR? Seems like all the videos are DE engines and they all did it differently

Do you really need to drain the oil or can I work around the filter? If I remove the filter alone how much oil comes out? All of it anyways or just a quart? I changed the oil like 500 miles ago so....

How much of a pita is this job? Seems like that sucker is pretty tight in there.

Do I have to drain all the coolant or just the upper hose? Also just changed the coolant in spring so....
