Default 2006 with oil consumption? HR replacement?

Hey i change my oil every 3000k. its been about that time and i notice my oil pressure guage is kinda dancing back and fourth like it starving a lil for oil... so i check the stick and nothing, dump a whole Qt and JUST on the bottom of the stick....

Honestly it seems like i have the oil problem BUT do you think its possible when they say they will warrenty the motor i can get the HR put in instead? How much modification is needed to drop one of them in?

AND if it is going in for replacment should i take off all my mods... intakes, pullys, and headers?

Sorry but No. It would be more cost effective to go get an 07+.

An HR for a revup? That has to rank right up there with how to use the dipstick and the purpose of the filler neck drain hole. The purpose of a warranty is to protect against manufacturing defects, period. Most dealers will do everything they can not to even live up to that. To that end, the lesser mods the better. A lot depends on how 'mod friendly' a particular dealer is. If nothing else, lots of performance mods give the dealer a motive to suggest that the car was abused and to look a little closer.

Things can get a little different once it switches from you paying them and them making a profit to them giving you an engine that costs close to $10k.

If you want to play it safe, take out the mods. I don't personally think headers will void the warranty if you're trying to get a new engine. You can also talk to their master tech and get his take on it, since they will be the person overseeing the swap and talking to the service managers.

If you already knew the answer, then why did you post here? I don't know you from Adam, but I can say with confidence that those that responded on this, know the hell of a lot more about cars than you do. You asked for our opinion, and now you have it.

Would be no different than me asking if GM would give me an LS7 as a warranty replacement for my LS6 if it were acting up...

Just ain't gonna happen. But hey, wishes make the world a better place I guess.
