Mark your calendars - REGISTRATION FOR ZDAYZ IS OPEN!
Details right now are scarce and I assume there will be updates shortly. As opposed to years past, I'll be holding off on registering until I know that the family will be vaccinated in time. If not, it looks like I'll have to pass, but hopefully the rollout of the vaccine will be here by then. Fingers crossed!
Hey, you never know - ZdayZ may be the perfect marketing opportunity to get the word out about your rear mount turbo kits. You can write off the trip as a business expense, right?
Side benefit - you may also have some fun while you're at it.

yea - were planning on being a sponsor and I guess were raffling-off a turbo kit ... We hope to have our cars there along with local customer cars as well. Should be fun!
Edit: Z Con is in Colorado Springs (August 16th - 21st)) ... not 100% sure about Z dayz ...
Attendance looks pretty slim right now at only 75 registrants for the event which is a little bleak compared to 2019 when this number was over 750. NC Executive Order 195 lifted some restrictions last Friday to increasing the number of occupants of restaurants/bars and other indoor venues. Some venues are allowed to operate at 30% capacity, while others have increased to 50%. It looks like there is a general cap of 250 people for some events. I'm curious if this will change as time goes by and how this will affect this year's ZdayZ.
I did talk to him a little bit and he said the venue was a lot more tame than Fontana. i.e., no burnouts and 3AM revs. I guess that's good that everyone acted like adults, but for some reason, I'm disappointed at the same time? I was looking through the activities and I saw there was no exhaust competition. I guess I'm just one of "those" at heart and enjoy seeing everyone cut up a little bit as long as we're being "semi-responsible" at the same time. Only about 20% of the attendance compared to 2019.
I'm hoping next year things will be back to normal with the cheeky shenanigans.

Yeah, guilty..... I've done some hooniganery despite my advanced age. But ya, what does one expect going to an event like that? I don't condone such around my house (civil streets) but once in a bit, gotta let the endorphins out to play - and in a controlled setting I guess is fine. Just don't mess it up by having the boooojwah who live around the place ban you.
Alrighty then. The Cliffs-
New venue at Blowing Rock is fabulous. Beautiful, triple the price of Fontana. No exhaust competition or burn-outs, this place is high brow and we want to be welcomed next year. There is talk about an exhaust competition at the nearby Tanger outlet next year. I went with a work buddy so we made time for fishing. Plenty of equal or better roads to enjoy. Cell service and wifi is solid.
My overall impression - Loved it, plenty of time to enjoy friends and cars, plenty of places to hike or just unwind. Let's just call it much more civilized.
Thanks for posting the pics, JHC! I hope to make it next year. I've been to Blowing Rock/Boone lots of times in the past since I used to live in Winston-Salem in high school and we would drive up to Boone to go skiing on snow days. I also had some friends that went to App, so I'm familiar with the area. Any details about the 5K/10K? I imagine it didn't have a 400ft+ elevation change like at Fontana. And what is this - no cabin crawl??? Definitely sounds more civilized than Fontana, but I still have mixed feelings about that... After all, growing old is mandatory, but growing up is optional!

Precisely! We had a good turnout for the 5/10 K, I voluntold for a challenging, hilly event as cheer leader. No Cabin Crawl because no cabins...(condos/rooms).
Make no mistake, if you came to drive, hike or party there were ample opportunities for whatever your poison!

I did notice something.... a couple of Z32s and a bunch of 33s and 34s. No S30/130/Z31s?? That seems weird.

Roadsters! Represent!! Haha!
Between bein' uppity and drivin' my LRR, I'da fit right in!!
It was an eclectic collection this year, all generations were definitely represented. I had a GTR fall in behind me on one cruise. I knew you'd enjoy that pic!
