Question VDC OFF / SLIP and some strange lurching

I bought a 2005 25th Anniversary Edition after regretfully selling my 2005 I'd owned since high school. The car was wrecked when I got it, but I was about to get it back to driving condition. I replaced all the components that were damaged, and everything seemed to be working fine. I drove it for about 3 hours, stopped to get gas, so I turned the car off. When I turned the car back on, it took off, and after about 3-4 seconds, it began to lurch or catch. The slip and VDC OFF lights came on. Intermittently the brake light and ABS will accompany it as well. I'm not sure if it's related, but there is a distinct popping sound occasionally on deceleration. I have checked everything I'm able to without access to my dad's scanner and garage at this point. Has anyone else had this happen before, and what did you do? Thanks!

When my '05 had similar issues it ended up being the cam sensors. If it turns out to be the same for you, do yourself a favor and buy the OE sensors as the aftermarket was a garbage.

Also, scanners are less than $30 on Amazon. They're worth having unless you only drive brand new cars.
