Default Please help *** VDC / Slip light

ok guys i have searched around 350z/G35 forums and please dont bash me i did not find the answer that i was looking for.

When i purchused my 350z i noticed that the VDC/Slip lighst where on i asked the person and he said that the car apperantly dosnt have traction control or he has removed it or something

now i have 2 ugly lights always lit on my dash i wanted to see how can i get rid of those 2 lights ? someone told me take out red fuse 50 under the hood but i read up on it and that just disables the Traction/ ABS / VDC , Slip

I just want the lighst on the dash to go away please help !

First, does the car have VDC?
There will be a button under the steering column that says VDC.
2003 to 2005 models had VDC only on the 6 speed track, touring and performance models.
If it doesn't have VDC the dealer can reset it. The cluster could have been changed out.

So first, what year and what trim is your car. Is there a VDC button. Is it clean title?
What size wheels/tires?

Instead of disabling VDC I would want to figure out why the light is ON. But that’s just me.

never buy a car with any funny lights on, you are asking for trouble.

hmm guy gives a weird answer and you buy the car?? 2nd. are they stock rims or aftermarket? It sounds weird but make sure your tires have the right psi, reason saying if they really low i would say it could make the vdc go off.

just my .02

If you check your owners manual, you'll find that if those lights are on all the time, then you have a problem.

Indicator light
If a malfunction occurs in the system, the
SLIP and VDC indicator lights come on in
the meter panel.
As long as these indicator lights are on, the
vehicle dynamic control function (except the
ABS) is canceled.
Do you have the VDC Off button under the dash, near your left knee?

Are you running stock tire sizes? If not, you need to be running larger rears, while being within 3% from front to rear.

If you are running a square setup, that may be causing your Christmas tree lighted dash.

Don't ask me how I know this.........

That means that you have VDC. If those lights are on all the time, then you have a problem with the computer in the system.

Another possibility is that one or more of the wheel sensors is not located properly.

My warning lights came on after installing the SPC camber kit.

^^^ Usually, that doesn't occur until you start driving. If you start the car and the lights come on, you have a problem other than the sensors.

Mine stayed on . . . .even after re-starting the car.

Perhaps plugging in a code reader might yield some insight ?

Mine are on as well and it started when a battery cable came off due to a loose terminal during driving. I would be curious as to how to fix it/make them go away.

No CEL = no codes. I don't recall if the ABS unit has any specific codes or not.

Reset of the ECU might clear it. The problem with power glitches like that is something could be fried. Try disconnecting the battery, press on the brake pedal then reconnect it. That should reset the ECU.

It's also possible the previous owner removed the bosch yaw sensor under the center console. Turns on VDC and slip lights, but allows ABS to still function (but disables EBD).

Just pull up your shifter surround and look just behind the shifter and see if the black box is bolted up in there. If it's not, shoot me a PM I have an extra here in my tool box.
