350z DE vs ... Impossibles
Hello everyone,
I have several crazy questions. I have a DE, basically stock. My goal is to build something that can possibly run with my brothers cars. They own a Q50 3.7 (bone stock) & GS350 (also bone stock). Yes, they are easily faster than the DE, but the advantage is, they will ALWAYS be stock.
My question is, is there any combination of parts for the DE that will allow me to compete? I have the means of getting most bolt ons. I know a supercharger or turbo would be the easiest route, but I don't have the means to do that at this time. Also, I'm speaking of simple street racing. No track times. Just light to light, or highway pulls.
Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Welcome and trav is right, we don't encourage or tolerate street racing on these forums. Not only have there been 350Zs being torn apart over the years, it's that innocent lives are put at risk for the sake of a few thrills. But that doesn't mean you can't have fun AND show your bros how it's done. You live in Atlanta and near some awesome road race circuits where you must know how to DRIVE. Consider going to a SCCA Track Night in America where you can learn to negotiate a 13-turn 2.5-mile circuit track with one of the longest backstraights in the country. Cost is low ($75-100) for a night (with several sessions and basic instruction), you'll find your Z can pretty easily run away from your brothers sedans IF you take the time to learn the line.
Interested? Read the autocross and road racing forum to get a better idea of how others have started. Remember that the skills you learn will serve you well into the future and maybe keep that beautiful Z off curbs, poles and trees near public roads.

Indeed - please dont street race ... take it to a drag strip - be legal and safe and in a controlled environment.
Simply put, you will not be able to bolt on enough non-turbo/non-supercharged mods to keep up without spending $15k to $20k. You'd also need weight reduction.
A simple supercharger / turbo charger kit (you can spend as little as $3500 to $4k all in) and you'll push 400hp to 450hp and it'd be no contest - legally of course, go to a drag strip or a half mile event. They are incredibly fun.
without turbo/supercharger it itsnt possible without spending serious cash.
