Default Future owner question 06 350Z

Trying to purchase a 2006 350Z Touring Coupe. (Silver) - No mods I hope. Automatic with 17.5k miles. I read a thread titled -Rare find and came to a conclusion that they will be popping out in and out as Nissan did mass produce this car. The seller is pretty firm on 12.5k which is the high end of the cars value. Thoughts and suggestion on "is it worth the price", I will be doing the test drive/walkthrough this week (hopefully). Thanks and looking forward to joining the Z fam.

Look it over carefully. Me and wife bought a 2005 auto Enthusiast and love it. We gave 10k. It had 70k on it no mods all original. We couldn't be happier. If it wasn't for 3 different knee surgeries on left knee would have gone stick. Bottom line always go over it thoroughly and if any suspected issues get it checked out at dealer and question current owner.

Best of luck.

Year and a half ago I bought a 2003 Touring M/T with 38,000 miles for $10,500. Mint condition. Other than replacing original tires and window motor (which was replaced by Nissan dealership right before I bought it) I've had no issues and love the car. $2K more for a car 3 years newer and 20K less miles doesn't sound out of line. Especially if it has no mods. Guessing those are getting hard to find.

Are you aware of differences between DE, RevUp, and HR engines? Heard about the oil consumption issues that some experienced on the RevUp?

Your def in the HR price range but finding a low mileage one might be tricky.......

I was under the impression that the auto's didn't get the rev-up even though it's an '06 model year. The rev-up was only for the '05 anniversary edition and '06 MTs.

OP - when you check out the Z, if the tach redline is 6,600 rpms, it's not a rev-up so at least you don't have to worry about that. A full PPI is always a good idea.

My bad......I'd rather have a DE over RevUp anyway......don't DE's have more torque?

Seems reasonable for the mileage but as everyone here points out, look it over very carefully. Other option is to have Nissan look it over for you. A pre-purchase inspection (PPI) is easily worth the ~$250 (don't quote me on that price but its in that neighborhood) to know what you might be expecting down the road. If seller objects to a PPI on your dime, that should tell you something too...

I purchased my 05 Enthusiast with AT in 2015 with 3K miles from my neighbor for $9500. I had it checked out at CarMax for free and then I took it to a Nissan tuner shop for a final check. It was perfect and she had all the routine maintenance done at a Nissan dealership over the years. It now has 16K miles. I had to put on new tires and replace a front fender. I also had the front and rear bumpers painted and replaced the battery and radiator fans. One was going out. Total cost for all work was about $3k. So I would say that is a fair price if the car checks out and you don't have do anything to it.

I like to think it's a 06 because I put 06 headlights on it. LOL

Fans don't last on these cars. I replaced one on our 04 model.
