Default Clear manual shift bezel

Hello. I was thinking about interior mods i could do to my 2005 z and i want to replace the silver ring in the shift bezel with a frosted clear piece and put some dim led lights under it. Is there any product that has a similar effect i could buy? or a clear bezel i could buy and DIY it? Haven't been able to find anything online close to what i want to do. I feel like i may have explained that poorly so ive included a picture of what im talking about.

Any suggestions of what i should do?

Doesn't exist. Be the first.

I very well could be wrong though because I pay no attention to stuff that causes driver distraction and adds zero performance gain. (Tell that to the front lip I installed. Ha!)

Oh, and except for car audio, the ultimate driver distraction.

Have entertained installing a mobile fish tank though.

Lol a fish tank would definitely be something. But thats all i needed to hear. I might see if i can find a 3d model or 3d model it myself and get it 3d printed.
wish me luck

Nope nothing like that, this car isn't that kinda car. Only thing you could do is a fiber optic lighting kit but it's a lot of work not worth it IMO.

Well, good luck! Haha,

You can print "clear", that is, every degree from transparent to opaque. I would guess you'd want something in the middle, translucent/semi-transparent.

Interestingly, just happened on this... Stratsys, one of the leaders in 3D printing resources, uses this picture of a "fish tank" to demonstrate a clear 3D printed piece. Ha!

Interesting idea. Other than 3D printing, I think another possibility would be using the existing piece to make a mold and then custom-fabricating that piece with some clear epoxy/resin mix.

Are you going to tie in the LEDs to the shift light?

If this is a project you are intent on, I'd be on YT looking for threads with words, "Pouring acrylic, Lucite or clear resin."
Also, go talk with the most expensive car audio shop in your town, they're usually masters at fabbing and creative
thought. GL!
