Default Anyone Else Had Their 350Z 20 Years?

I'm an owner of a first year 350Z. I ordered my 2003 350Z in August 2002. It was built in November of 2002. I picked it up the dealership on January 16, 2003. Not quite 20 years ago yet, but almost. It's a toy car which doesn't get driven a lot, but it does have approximately 32,000 miles on it. I'm wondering how many of those who purchased the first year (2003) 350Z's still have their cars.

I took the car out for a drive this morning and then gave it a good wash. Still a beautiful car.

Looking good my NC bro. I used to drive my Z out to G-Vegas occasionally for work, but that has since changed beginning in 2020.

Thanks! Are you by chance a member of the Triangle Z Club? I've attended several of their events over the years. Sorry you don't get our here to G-Vegas as much as you used to.

I think I looked into TZC a while back and then never joined for one reason or another. The drive from Raleigh was always a nice cruise and nothing but farm land between Wilson and G-ville. I used to come in on 264 by the Grady-White plant which was a nice little "fun" stretch of highway.

I've only had my Z about half as long as you but I've definitely put some miles on her with over 100K on the clock. It sounds like you're still enjoying it when she does get driven. The weather was close to perfect yesterday.

It is a nice drive from Wilson to Greenville. Nice stretch of road.

Sounds like your Z is your daily driver. Of course mine isn't. That's why it has so few miles given its age. I am still enjoying it though. Especially on a nice day like Monday was. It was close to perfect weather wise.

Very similar … November 2005 … puts me around 17years? Got it with 14k on it from a guy going through a divorce and I’m up to 68k miles now … one of the better decision I’ve made in my adult life…

I had my slave cylinder, clutch and flywheel all replaced about three months ago. I suppose they don't last forever.

My track model was originally ordered in 2000, shortly after I heard Nissan was building a new Z using the VQ. Redline wasn't a popular color, so I had to wait until October 2002 to take delivery. That was an exciting time! This pic was taken in the summer, but now the Z is resting in the garage as Colorado winter storms fronts gather and blow past.

Very Nice! You have had your car longer than I've had mine. My car is a Touring model btw. I figured that there were a few of us out there who still had their early 350Zs.

Speaking of color, I ordered my Daytona Blue car based on the color sample the dealer had. At that point I had not seen a 350Z in person, let alone the color. I definitely made right choice on the color from my prospective. I still get compliments on the color.

Yes, we bought this Silver Touring Coupe brand new. It is a 6-speed manual. With the exception of a K&N air filter, new batteries and new tires, it is pristine original with 84,000 miles on the odometer. It is a summers only, fair weather, 2500 miles per year fun driver. The exhaust shows off that raspy Nissan Z growl. When you put it into a curve, it prefers a little throttle to let the tires bite and hold their line.

Very nice! And it's original too. You hardly ever see an original 350Z anymore. I've kept all my OEM parts, including the wheels, but not sure I'd ever put all those parts back on again.

And you are spot on about the sound a Z makes. I'd recognize it anywhere.

I'm guessing that you really like the way your Z behaves. Give us a little insight.

You are spot on. Yes, it's the most fun to drive car I've ever owned. Not the fastest, but the most enjoyable to drive. I spent the first 4 or 5 years I had the car modifying the car to improve it's handling, power and braking. Then it became a super fun autocross car. Even after 20 years of ownership it still brings a smile to my face every time I drive it. Unfortunately, I'm only driving it about 1,000 to 1,500 miles a year now. And I've owned several other sports cars during that same 20 years, including a 370Z, a C6 Corvette, a BMW 1 series and a Camaro SS 1LE. All of them capable of going faster, but not necessarily as much fun to drive. I think the Z is so much fun because it's the right combination of size, power and handling.

Mine is a 2003 so ill hit the 20 year mark this year. Still love the car and will never sell it. It has changed from a bolt on garage queen, to a twin turbo garage queen to a gutted track car that never gets washed now. still love the look of the 350z, been extremely fun and reliable.
