Default Best tires pressure for spectator drags

Hey guys I got a spectator drag this weekend and was wondering what the ideal tire pressure would be for an oval ring with a lot of camber in the turns. I’m running 255/35r20 in the front and 285/30r20 in the rear. Don’t ask why I’m on 20s I’m trying to get rid of them 😂.

A spectator DRAG with turns other than the top end turnouts??

Dichotomy there re: pressures.... for a drag launch, a lower pressure and softer sidewalls in rear is needed for contact patch maximization and bite/hookup but higher pressures all around on stiffer sidewalls is needed in corners. Can't have a tire(s) that does both well.

Explain the drag v. oval ring and which you are actually doing. Type of tires. And if oval, how much banking? (Outer pressures higher to prevent tire rollover). Need all that before you can get any useful info over general.

the track is caraway speed way you can find some videos of it on YouTube. It’s got decent bank and still a good bit even in the straights. My of the line speed isn’t great but it’s really the corners where I get people. I need a tire pressure that is well round for off the line speed and cornering. Last time I went I was at 35 all around and was experiencing a lot of understeer.

Well, given that you're understeering (stock Z characteristic) and assuming basic street driven tires, I would start with a 40/38 F/R stagger and drop the rear pressure by 2# at a time to increase oversteer (well, reduce understeer). Or start at the max pressure allowed on the sidewall with a 2# stagger and work your way down to how you want the car to behave. Just make sure you drop your pressures back down when getting the car back on regular roads. Not going to hurt anything with the higher pressures but the ride will be less pleasant at higher pressures. Not like a Z ride could be considered "pleasant".
