04 350Z driver seat causing physical pain
Hello to all, I don't post much however this site has been invaluable in all the years I've owned my Z. I have an 04 Touring in very good condition and extremely clean, inside and out with approx 170K miles. My concern though is regarding driver seat comfort (or lack thereof) that is exasperating physical ailments I have due to personal injuries I've sustained (non-vehicle related). I will mention that the Z itself is not the only vehicle that causes me discomfort (most cars I've driven cause me some range of pain) and it revolves around being seated in a less than optimum position. What also is a contributor is firmness, the firmer the better. The leather seats were replaced several years ago and are still in very good condition however I imagine the underlying foam (still being OEM) has lost its' viability long ago.
My question is concerning whether I consider replacing the seat entirely with some sort of substitute (and most likely losing the safety airbag features) or crossing my fingers and seeing if a foam swap/upgrade might help resolve this.
I have found some relief for short periods of time placing foam or a towel on top of the seat while driving however they are all short-lived. The car is a manual transmission and I'm not the tallest individual (5'-6") but I'm hoping to gather some input as to what fellow members may have encountered.
Thanks!

Im the same height as you and also have a 6 speed. When I first got the Z that was one of the first things I noticed that would potentially cause issues for me. In my case I have a bad back. Ive had spine surgery. My seat were and still are in decent shape for its age. All I did was buy a lumber support. Below is a link to the one i bought and has worked for me. You can always get your seat reupholstered as well. Good luck.
