Default MOMO optional steering wheel airbag replacement

Hey everybody,

did anyone try putting the airbag from the stock steering wheel into the optional Momo Type B? There are some for sale on ebay without an airbag.
Since I really want one I'm trying to find out if the airbag itself Is even going to fit. I know the center plastic trim is not going to fit, but it shouldnt be glued on to the airbag itself. I could 3D print the plastic center part of the steering wheel myself with necessary thin fracture lines to make it function as intended (theoretically). Since my Z is EU-spec it should have 1 stage airbag, so the connectors shouldn't be a problem. Does anyone have measurement of the plastic part or any knowledge i could use?

Thanks in advance

Welcome and and my advice is don't try to retrofit an airbag into an aftermarket steering wheel. They incorporate an explosive charge that makes a DIY swap a very bad idea. Sorry to say, an OEM airbag in a MOMO steering wheel is not a practical solution IMHO.

Thanks for responding
The wheel in question is the JDM Optional Momo wheel, It includes an airbag by design. It was offered by japanese Nissan dealers in mid 2000s and If you could source the whole thing it would be plug and play. The main problem Is that It seems impossible to source the original airbag unit with cover hence why I'm thinking of swaping the airbag from a factory steering wheel into the optional one. I'm fairly certain that the airbag itself fits without any modification. However I need to make plastic cover for It. I thought my best bet would be on this forum since there are some people who probably had this wheel back in the day and maybe could shed some light if its identical to the oem Evo steering wheel and other info.

Back in the day shipping air bags was possible, not anymore. I agree with DK on this one, bad idea.
