'08 350z Shark Fin Satellite Radio Antenna popped off
Hi guys, I have an 08 Z in Carbon Silver. Today while washing my car, I noticed that the shark fin antenna on the roof was loose. I pulled on it and it just popped off. Looking at the inside, I saw there are 5 clips and they almost all were broken.
I am thinking I need to find a replacement part or just stick this one back on with 3M tape or something like that. What do you guys think? Trying to look this up was pretty difficult as it seems most Zs did not come with this shark fin antenna.

Reason: found part number
I didnt know Z33's came with those antenna's. I would get rid of it but im assuming theres a hole there. Maybe use some kind of silicone adhesive sealant on the shark cap and mounted it back on.
Yes, I think only the 07-08s had this as an option with the upgraded Bose stereo that included the the Navigation unit. They are a rare sight, so finding an OEM replacement is going to be tricky unless Nissan used that same design on other models of the period (which they probably did!).
Some options I would consider for a quick/temporary fix...
1) Double-sided tape is probably the simplest option. It looks like it will work, but you will need to be very tactical with the tape locations as this appears to be very tight molded piece.
2) As bre suggested, perhaps some clear RTV will do the trick, but I would be concerned about it having enough strength to hold should the wind catch an edge on the freeway.
3) Maybe a combination of both? Short of a replacement cover piece anything else involving screws has the potential to damage the unit.
Thank you both. I was thinking about using 3M double stick tape for now, while I look for a replacement piece, but as you said, they appear to be quite rare.
Edit:
It appears they were used on other vehicles, perhaps? I found this on eBay, but it says it's for other Nissans from the same time period. The only difference is the ebay one is K12 color code and mine is K51. So I'll see if they have any in K51 and I can try it out.
You may even find some modern (late model) Nissans still using that design. Satellite receivers haven't changed much over the years. But check both Nissan models and Infiniti models, I'm sure you could find a good/clean used one on Ebay. I wouldn't even worry about a paint color mismatch. You could easily do a rattle can paint match that would blend in nicely on such a small piece. Of course if you can find a matching piece, go for it!
As Trav and bre mentioned, if you're on a budget, try RTV out. But if you want it same as new, a replacement is your best option.
Cheers!
