Default 1.5" VMS (&S2k) replacement radio antenna

My antenna was stolen at the car wash, but that's another thread ...

So I ordered the 1.37" because it sait it was aluminum and real carbon about a week ago but when I saw it was east coast I got a Honda antenna. The S2k was $30+ so I got a Hybrid one for half that. There's no difference except the part number which doesn't mean there not exactly the same part. The 6" Honda radio antenna actually works better then the 3' OEM antenna. The real test will be at work where I used to loose reception.

So I got the tiny RC Car antenna and had to try it right away. It has what looks like an aluminum extension (maybe 1.25") but it was not possible to use it. At first I thought it went inside the antenna as it seems to be all plastic with a carbon wrapped center. I couldn't use it or any of the brass studs but the one from the extension worked. It left a slight gap (maybe 1/8") so I used the 1/4" spacer. I'll update if it actually works.

If anyone knows how to find pics on A Droid Bionic, please post so I can upload. I think it's saving to internal memory.

I tested in a dead zone and the 1.5" did not get reception but the 5" Honda version did. I really like the mini antenna, so tomorrow I'll test it with a longer stud. So far it's a little bit weaker then OEM and the 5" rubber version is slightly stronger as the OEM had a noticeable signal loss but still had reception.
