New Z, what to do with 3k
Hey i just bought a 2004 Nissan 350z blue enthusiast. Now i want to do exhaust, cold air intake, and headers for the start. I was looking at the injen exhaust and intake, and the b and b headers. Does anyone object or recommend anything else instead of these? or suggest other mods b4 those? Any suggestions or help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks

someone might suggest the plenum and headers from Crawford Z. The guys from Crawford post on this forum, and many members have their products.

3k... I wish I had 3k. If I did have 3k to drop into performance mods, I would do the following:
JWT Popcharger- $120
Kinetix Plenum + HiFlow Cats- $750
Nismo Headers- $800?
Injen Straight-Tip Exhaust- $800
Unorthodox Racing Crank Pulley- $220 w/ belts
That comes out to $2770, so you have $230 left over. With that I would probably tint the windows and get a Nismo Titanium Shift ****. Good luck with your choices.
ps- all prices listed above are if you install the items yourself, add more $$$ if you plan to pay for them to be installed.

injen intake $220, nismo exhaust $850, kinetix plenum $395(around), kinetix high flow cats $385(around), UR crank pulley and belt $220, JWT Flywheel $400, Gounding Kit $65. Thats $2500 and the rest can be for install of what you dont do your self. If you really want to do headers, do nismo or crawford instead of the Flywheel, but the flywheel will make a world of difference.

Re: New Z, what to do with 3k
None of the mods available right now offer the bang for buck you'll see with other cars. Many of us just think the Z is too new...and I have a feeling that investing a LOT of money in performance parts right now may not get you as much hp as it will get you once things really get rolling.
For example, the $200 intakes that get you 1hp.
Or the $1k exhausts that get you maybe 6-8 hp..if even that.
Just not worth it right now.
That said, there are tons of good wheel and exterior upgrades if that's your deal. but if you've got money to burn...who cares? get it all! ;-)

heh, well my 3 friends have an evo white blue and silver all are from stock to a stage II.. and my other friend just got an STI, so i don't want to really copy their style, and ive done ther whole awd turbo speed, had an 2001 S4, traded it in for the Z.. more for the summer and overall a more fun car. The Z with headers, intake and exhaust, what times are u looking at in the quarter? also what are average stock times on the 350?

I was looking in the shop section, under https://my350z.com/forum/showthread....threadid=53845 hope that works.. under concept z performance and then under Borla, Injen, JWT, Stoptech, Axxis. I was thinking to do the borla exhaust, injen intake, and the borla headers for 1510? now if i did that would i need high-flow cats? im confused wouldnt that be with the exhaust? and to make sure that borla is dual exhaust right?
Also, how many miles do u guys think i should wait to do this? 1k?

Also the cats arent with the exhaust. They are located before the exhaust system.

i agree with the other comments about waiting until new products arrive. one part that has been proven to get good gains consistently is the hi flow cats/test pipes and the crank pulleys. everything else falls under the concept of diminishing returns as you do more of them.
