Question 2005 guesses

Hey everyone.
Is there any rumors floating around out there about the 2005 Z? More specifically, any changes they plan to make to the stlye, trim packages, etc? It is really early in the year I know, but it never hurts to ask right???

lol @ your sig.
None that I heard of. Some girl on this site, who works for Nissan, is saying the Z is getting a 4.0l engine for 2005. I HIGHLY doubt that will happen. Expect very subtle changes if any at all. I wouldnt be surprised if the hp got bumped to an even 300

Last thing I heard here was that the 05 changes will be mostly cosmetic (interior) and that the 06 changes will be more performance based.

/drool once the RX-8 twin turbos and the new Supra comes out they will most likely Twin Turbo the 350z to compeat. They gots to keep the tradition going so most likely you will see a twin turbo on the Z around 2006 2007 IMO.

I still doubt it. That kills the idea of the Z being "affordable." Add turbos again and car will go up 10k, and insurance will start rising too. Plus I'd be pissed my car is that much slower

I wouldnt be suprised if there is a mild bump in HP in 06 or so though.

There will not be a new Supra. They don't even have a suitable concept car yet, which always launches at least a year before a prod. car would come out. And they aren't working on one either.

Lets not forget that the Z is soon going to be the "little brother" to the almighty Infiniti GT-R. So don't expect much.

I wouldn't be surprised if for 2k5 we saw a dealer deliverable S-Tune model though.

I won't expect too much from the Z to compete with the new Supra or any car like that... Nissan has the R35 GTR to handle that
as JeepRage said, the Z is an AFFORDABLE car, so they may not do it, but I guess they'll try to improve the quality of interior plastics

No turbos from Nissan now (lawyers in the US), they may be bringing the brickyard color back, and they are thinking about an anniversery edition 350Z to commemorate (sp) I believe he said 30 years dont quote the year part.

Thanks for the info everyone. As much as I would like to see a twin turbo come out, I agree that it would not only drive up the cost, but the insurance as well...go figure.

Weren't the 300Z TT's selling for like 44k back in the day? I wouldn't completely rule out a 350Z TT yet...

Ok, I highly doubt brickyard is being brought back. There isnt any demand for it first of all.
and......
Since when is a twin turbo factory RX8 coming out? This is the first I heard of this.

Yea, back in the early '90s. Go ahead and figure out inflation etc. I bet if they still made the Z32tt nowadays, it would be as expensive as a fully optioned Z06.

Saying the n/a rx8 is faster than the n/a 2nd gen. rx7 isn't saying much. Although at VIR this past weekend there was an n/a 2nd gen. that was faster than a mostly stock 3rd gen. The 2nd gen. had lots of goodies though.

the mazdaspeed RX-8 was on display this weekend at the Kansas City International Auto Show. It was very nice, I actually like the brake vents in the side panels.

Still preferred the Z on display with all Nismo products on it though
