A few Z complaints
I've now put 1400 miles on the car since 9/16 (Monday). That's included innumerable trips around New Haven and the surrounding cities, one trip to Hartford, twice to Norwalk, and twice to NJ/NY. A few things have come up which slightly bother me. Some have been mentioned before..some now.
The lights - they're not too bright and seem to be pointed too far down. I guess that way they won't blind anybody, but they also don't project as far as I'd like. The turn signals though, seem to project way up. Watch the buildings on your sides when you turn, they turn orange.
The armrest - is there some way to jury rig a spring so that the lid actually pops up when the switch is moved? Either that or retrofit a stronger spring on the original location.
Nav door - not as flimsy as previously thought. It's actuation is actually kind of neat once you get used to it.
Blind spots - the right rear spot effectively hides a small car. Any way around this without having to use those small add-on mirrors? I've tried moving my mirrors, but it's not effective. I wish there was some convex mirror you could replace the original with.

Drop to third gear, mash the pedal, pass a whole bunch of cars until the coast is clear to move over!

Now that I've put 2000 miles on mine, I'm very comfortaable with the rear and side views. I don't have a problem with the right rear blind spot -- I just make sure to check the right side mirror and then look over my shoulder. But, the LEFT side blind spot is bad. When I glance over my left shoulder all I really see is the B and C pillars, but no daylight. The angle from the driver's seat together with the really small rear side window makes it tough.

I took it to the dealer for the armrest cupholder/storageBox
problem and the factory rep was able to fix it. I dont exactly
know what he did but the service description says
"Fixed the lid alignment". wonder if he just bent it a little...
Thanks

I agree about the lights. the xenon low-beams are aimed a bit too low, and don't provide enough range on truly dark highway where you still have enough oncoming traffic to prevent using the highbeams.
Since the Z sits lower than many other HID equipped cars, I will probably aim mine a little higher soon (if this is possible, heheh).
I'm glad I'm not the only one that noticed that.
I do however like the color and light pattern that the HID's provide. I also agree with regards to the turn signals. The front turn signal bulb is just hanging out there in a clear lense, not in a directed colored prism lens like most cars.
