Rearview mirror
After reading all of the posts regarding the poor visibility out the rearview mirror, I am concerned about increasing my risk of having an accident. I understand that this is a sportscar, but still, visibility is important for safety.
So, can you guys who have their Z's now elaborate on their experience with the rearview mirrow and give me a better idea of it's safety? Because if it does have as poor visibility as everyone describes, then I will have to consider getting an LCD monitor and camera to visualize the rear.
Either way, could you guys please direct me to a site that sells this kind of equipment so that I can do some research on good brands and pricing so that when I drive the Z, I can make my own decision and on whether or not to purchase the camera and LCD display. It's all about safety in the end.

There is a Japanese option for a rear backup camera heheehehe... that and side views... I'm thinking about picking these up haha.
And it's is different looking out the rear view - takes some gettign use to.

I can only speak from 200 miles driving a rental z,it is not the greatest for distance some might even call it poor. You get used to it after a while but it definetly is not the greatest.Did it make me want to cancel my order NO!Side view ,over the shoulder that is not the greatest but thats what mirrors are for and they work fine.Parallel parking is a chore in this car.If the car wasnt so much fun to drive I might have complained more about poor visibility.Visibility out the front is just fine by the wayDont worry to much Ive only heard of couple of people back out of there order because of the poor rearview visability. When you see your car in person you wont be able to say no to the power of the NEW Z!

I think the shape and positioning of the side mirrors is great. I use them a lot.
The view out the back window isn't as bad as people have made it sound, but then again I was coming from an Integra GSR with the spoiler in the back that partially obscures the rear-view.
Front view is better than my Integra.
The height of the rear view is short, but you can still see the cars behind you just fine. Isn't that the purpose, after all? I don't need to see mountains and scenery out my back window in order to be safe.
