Default Auto Tranny Question

Does anyone with the Automatic feel the car jump a little when shifting out of park? I have a 2003 Xterra and it is smoother than my 2004 350Z. To me, that doesn't make sense, as the 350Z is a more refined ride. Perhaps I have bad motor mounts. Any suggestions. Thanks.

It is prolly because you just started the car up for the first time in the morning. The car usually idles higher than normal so if you dont give it a chance to idle "normally" the car will "Jump" harder because of the higher rpm. Kinda like staging at a drag strip for that "jump" you want to hold the idle higher at a certain rpm so you take off faster/get off the line harder and faster.

Also the Xterra does it too but the lack of power shows. Pay attention to your idle in the morning and you will get it.

Thanks. I will try it out. I don't remember the jump with my 2002 Maxima either. You are probably right, as my wife drives the Xterra to work, so I never drive it early in the morning. I only drive it when it's warmed up a bit. Perhaps that's the case. Thanks, again!!
