You talk about it not being a Ferrari (no one will dispute you on that) but even if it was a $2000 Geo Metro HE payed for it NOT the kid, so you cant tell him not to get pissed about some kid messing HIS car up which HE payed for. Stole my thunder ^ . I dont think my car is a Porsche or Ferrari...I would trade it for either in an instant. BUT, it is mine, I paid for it and I would be upset too.

Also, props to the Mom for doing the right thing...sounds like just one of those dumb things that ALL kids do. Its life, but I would be upset too.

I am about as "**** retentive" as you said, about my car as anyone on this board but come on. It's a little kid for goodness sake. They do stupid things all the time. You obviously don't have any kids and I feel sorry for them if you do.

Do you really think it was necessary to use the language you used to the kid? You could have handled it in the same way and got the same favorable result while being cool about it. Screaming obscenities at a 12 year old hardly makes you a mature adult.

By all means, discuss it with the kid. Ask him if he did it. Take him to his mom or dad and then calmly discuss it with them. Get your retribution. Get your car fixed.

I hate kids, not that any have ever hurt my car, but I hate them in general. We got 2 in our neighborhood that have no adult supervision. They ride their wagon down the hill and into my neighbors truck all the time. Not to mention, they are just loud and annoying.

for the record, i was this way about my 03 accord, my 00 civic si, my 97 accord and my 89 accord.

it's my property, and people (and yes, i classify kids as people) should respect that. whether my car is a piece of ****, a z, or a ferrari...no one has the right to chunk golf ***** at it.

i was extremely upset, i have a horrible temper. i didn't scream at the top of my lungs, but i did speak to him with a raised voice. and when i spoke to the mom, i explained to her that i shouted a few obsinities and i appologized. i told her that i was sorry for cussing at her son, but i was rather upset at the situation. (and i said that i knew that wasn't an excuse). she was totally cool about everything like i said. she said it was alright and that she understood.

i got the dent removed this morning and she paid over the phone with her cc.

everything turned out well. i shouldn't have cussed at the kid, but being 12-14, he should know better than to bounce golf ***** in the parking lot.

yes, all kids do dumb things. god knows i did my fair share of dumb crap. buuuuut i also know that when i did dumb crap, my parents held me accountable. they may have covered me upfront, but they absolutely made me pay for things in the long run. i had to work my butt off for the mistakes i made. and while i don't hold any illusions of trying to tell other ppl how to raise their kids, i damn sure want my damaged property to be taken care of.

i didn't need to discuss it. i was standing right next to my car when he hit it. i had 2 other witnesses as well.

i had him get his mom, so he had the chance to give his version of what happened. she came out and we did have a calm discussion. (as i put in my earlier post, i apologized for cussing at her son).

i think what upset me the most is that the kid was so blatant in his disregaurd for other ppl's property. i know we were all young and wreckless...but geez...i was standing right next to the car when he did it!!! *sigh*

Are you trying to say everyones deductable is $500 ???? Because if you are, you are the one who oviously knows NOTHING about what they are talking about and youv just been OWNED. Becuse you would know that you get to choose your own deductable, be it 0 dollars or 2,500, or more.. The difference is the lower the deductable, the higher your rates are, ect.

If you did not intend to word it like that and you were just saying that YOUR own deductable is $500, then fine, but this is not the way it sounds.

Now get off your " I'm better then every other young person in the world " kick.

I feel for you. Kids suck a$$, I live in a town-house community and I have to park my car up the street in over-flow parking. There is a smal field next to it. The other day I was pulling up to park, and these group of kids(10-14) were playing football very close to the curb I park on. As I'm parking the ***** hits my car. Lucky for me it hit my wheel. This past weekend some douche bag is punting the ball over my car to his friend out in the street, and vise versa. I was furious, I figure if this *****, prolly 14 years old is old enough to do something that stupid and hit my car, then hes old enough to get his a$$ beat. So I go outside and tell the ***** to move down the ****ing street. He did...now why the *** couldnt he have done that earlier. Kids are stupid, and when I have some one day they will never be "that" kid. BTW, I now have a small dent on the lower par of the drivers door, which is the side of the car next to the field, I think a football hit it If I see a kid hit my car then I'm gonna I wouldnt really but you guys know how it goes. I'd prolly hit the kids dad in the face for raising such a dumba$$.
