So I leave my house and I'm driving and I see this green light on my dash flashing light wild. SET SET SET! I'm like holy **** wth is this. I pull over and get my owners manual from the trunk. It says this is some cruise control light, so I get back in and I'm playing with all the cruise buttons. I have never used them since I got the car..well the stupid light stayed on anyway. I went to pick up my prepaid copy of Battlefield Vietnam from Gamestop and when I started the car again the light was off. Oh well just thought I'd share.

Ahh cool..I'm glad I prepaid because they sold out the entire stock on first day of release for the PC. I'm about to tear myself away from this site to play now. Still I wonder why that damn SET light ever came on.

 

Did you RTFM more carefully? When you turn on the cruise control, the CRUISE light turns on. When you've accelerated to the desired speed and set it, the SET light comes on and stays on until you hit the brakes, cancel cruise control, shut it off, or somehow the car can't maintain the speed (never hit this before).

I wouldn't necessarily "play" w/the cruise control buttons.

If the SET light came on w/o you ever touching the cruise control and the CRUISE light wasn't also on, then I'd say something's wrong.

 

Yea the cruise light was not on, just the SET light. It all went to normal after I turned the car off and back on. Guess if it ever happens again I will have my first reason to visit the dealership.

 

Don't forget, turning off the car will turn off cruise control too.

 

as i found out, depressing the clutch also will turn Cruise control off.. i never new that till the other night

 

does turn it off, but I find its slightly delayed, as I ussually get a little rev by doing that.
