Default no way to lease a z

How can someone lease a 350Z? If you sign the lease with 15,000 miles a year that means you can put 41.1 miles on the car per day. Driving to work is around 20 round trip for me. That would mean that if all I did was drive to work and back for a whole year, I would put 5220 miles on the car. I just dont see it being possible.

Not sure what you're getting at here but....looks as though you would be UNDER the allowed mileage.

Also, a lot of owners do not drive the Z year around - including me.

i'm leasing it, i plan on buying it after the lease is over, so i'm not worried about over mileage. i drive at LEAST 40 miles a day on weekdays, twice a week about 70 miles, so that's at a guaranteed 13,520 miles just going to work and my s/o's house for 5 days a week for 52 weeks. Weekends i usually stay over there, so most of the time we use her car.
The way i figured it was, i calculated my payments for financing the car for 6 years and leasing the car for 4 years + buyout, and the ending figure was around the same, so i figured, i pay the lower lease payment and save whatever i have leftover, so that at the end of the lease period i have saved enough for the buyout price.

To sort of follow up on what Jun said, if you are planning on keeping the Z at the end of the lease it doesnt technically matter how many miles you put on it.

I'm leasing my Z, simply because due to family circumstances I needed to have lower monthly payments. But even the sales manager gave me a little advice when we were going through all the paperwork. They have different yearly mileage you can chose when you lease, and the less miles per year, the less expensive your monthly payments are. So even if you know you're actually going to do more than you said for the yearly lease mileage, if you're going to buy it at the end of the lease, go with the least miles per year - cant hurt to save a little money ya know.

Leasing is the best way to go with the Z. That is exactly what I am doing. You get a way lower monthly payment and then at the end the buyoff is usually a little lower too. Mileage and mods don't even matter if you're gonna buy at the end. Also, you can go way over the mileage too and trade out of it before the end of the lease, which is something I have thought of doing, maybe for the touring or even a roadster. Either way, all that goes out the window when using the buyoff or trade option.

Lots of us who are leasing have other vehicles as well, so the mileage that will go on the Z may not be as high. I am leasing with 15k/year and have no intentions of buying the Z at lease end. I never make that kind of plans that far ahead.

I also have the luxury of a commute of only .8 miles. In the past, I've averaged about 13000 miles a year on any one vehicle.

if you dont mind me asking, how much would it be a month to lease a 04 touring around 32,500 for 36 months? What is the payoff at the end?

There isn't really a formula that you can plug the numbers into. A lot of it depends on your credit. Payments for 36 months will be higher than payments for 48 months. It also depends on how many miles you go for. 12,000 and 15,000 per year are the most common, but you can get more if you need to. And even after the dealer gives you a number, they need to find someone (either Nissan or a bank) to accept it.

If I had to venture a guess, though, I'd say someone between $400 and $500. But again, just a guess, I could be way off. And to figure out the payoff, just subtract your monthly payments and your down payment (if you give one) from the $32.5K.

without doing the numbers a touring will be around 450+ tax for 39 months + inceptions. The leases are great.

I'd say that's about dead on.

One of the nice things about the Z is that it's residual is so high. That means it leases very very nicely. Nissan even has a lease deal running currently, something like 502/mo. for 36 months on a coupe and 540/mo. on a roadster... See nissanusa.com for details.

Another nice thing is the nifty way that tax works on leases. You are only taxed on the payments, not the whole car... that's another money saver.

Personally, I think the best reason to lease is that you are done with the car at the end of the term and you actually have a decision to make. You can get rid of it easilly, sell it to someone and pay it off, or keep it and pay it off. It's like a long test drive

I think that 15,000 miles a year is more than enough.

Not necessarily. I think based on averages, I drive something like 14,700 miles a year just for work (whether it be to my office or to a client's). My Z is my daily driver. At 15,000 miles, I'd average 300 miles to do anything not work related (e.g., go to a store, hang out with friends). Some people just need a lot of miles. And some people (like myself) need a beater...

okay, so it wont be cheaper for me then. I got priced at 515 a month for 72 months which will be a lot of money however the payment for the first 36 months will be the same if I leased it.

hey guys i have a question, i have never leased a car before so i don't know. But my question is, Say i got a 3 yr lease with say 15k miles a year do you get penalized every year if you go over 15k or does it add up to 45k miles and if your over that you get penalized?

It's the total miles at the end of the Lease
A 3 yr lease @15k miles a year is 45K miles. At the end of the lease, as long as you are under 45K miles, you are golden.

I did a 3 yr @ 12K a year. I've got 36K miles to put on the car. That also happens to be the enact amount of miles for the warrenty, which was by design.

One thing to be careful of though. If you get a 39 month lease, sometimes they don't give you the extra 3 months worth of miles, i.e., if you get a 39 month lease and 12K a year, your total may still be 36K, not 39K. If you get a lease that includes a fraction of a year, make sure you find out. I know someone who found that out around month 35.

So you are leasing your Z as described above for 450 a month? If this is true and you go over your mileage, at the end of your lease they will charge you for each mile over? However if you decide to buy it at the end, the mileage over doesn't count?
