Default 350Z and Prelude

Can Honda Prelude ever beat STOCK 350Z???

If its a turbo 1997 Prelude? or supercharged Prelude?

I used to have 2001 Prelude before 350Z.

And all I remember is that the car was pretty slow.

What do you guys think???

you think stock Z can take Prelude? no matter what???

thanks

not no matter what, but pretty much yeah, the lude is a slow *****.

Now, I do know a lude that a friends tuner shop did some mods on that would walk all over most Zs.

i used to own a 99 lude. it was a fun car, but not a sports car.

i say it all depends on what the comparison is.

to compare straight line acceleration, such as 0-60 or 1/4 mi... the lude can probably be modded to beat stock Zs.

to compare handling and going fast through turns and just overall on track performance, there's no way a fwd lude can beat a Z. unless the Z driver is a horrible, horrible driver.

my 2 cents.

my uncle owns a 99 lude with an f-max turbocharger and some other bolt on's. Car was built by InlinePro in Va and dyno'ed @ 388whp, He beat a stock Z on the freeway b4. He ran a 13.5 on the track with a bad cyclinder. Car weighs 4,ooo pounds, thats why their slow on the 1/4 run,but on the freeway, their ok. But he's trying to sell his lude for a Z. any1 interested? lolz

A stock prelude vs. a 350z? There is no question about it.

Maybe this will help :
1997 Prelude
0-60 MPH: 7.8
1/4 MILE: 16@89MPH

Supercharged/Turbo would probably run door to door with a stock 350z

Why are you so concerned about Preludes?

I think you guys are way under estimating FWD cars. A modded Prelude SH will definitely be able to hang if not beat a stock Z. With heavy suspension mods, turbo, VTEC controller, and one bad *** driver, there is a very good chance the Lude can hang. And thats any FWD car, I.E ITR, 7th Gen Celicas, etc. The feel of RWD car is superb but it just doesnt have the same feeling of the way a FWD car handles. The Hotchkis Celica is proof.

You guys are beating a dead horse. You give me $40k of mods to spend, and I'll make a Yugo faster than a stock Z.

Things to remember:
Someone is always going to be faster than you.

To make you feel better:
You can polish a turd, but it's still ****.

I'd say 9 out of 10 times, you'll beat that prelude, but there's always some guy out there who dropped hella cash into his ride that'll make you suprised. Still no Z tho.
