Yup, it's ancient... but always good for a laugh. At the Z owners' expense anyway (other boards always look for ways to clown us).

They should've just stuck with the AT.

that someone is me.....what a maroon, what a jackass, what a .....oh wait THAT WAS ME !$#!@#$%!%! Just Kidding. But that is rich, I not quite sure how he wasn't able to determine that he had plenty of room, unless his girlfriend was a complete tard and was stating "Um....you only got like 1.3 inches before you hit the guy in the back." When in all actuality it was 13 FEET. Or other scenario, he has Glaucoma and the DMV doesn't know yet...

I don't think they were worried about space in the back. They were worried about rolling forward into the car in front of them. The guy couldnt get the car in a reverse motion without rolling forward first.

Compleatly agree.

I'v got a friendwith an NSX who's not THAT great with a stick on hills. But he does use his parking break just about every time and has no problems.

The only problem is that the author's claim that this took place over the period of an hour is bogus. Look at the shadows of the trees in the street and along the brick wall behind them. It hardly changes position. If they had been there an hour, you would see significant movement in the shadows. My guess is that it was 5 to 10 minutes max.

wow ...you serious?! understand the whole rotational mass of the earth thing, but there could be varying factors that would have thrown that theory off, such as clouds perhaps.

Parking break is already on
So you press the clutch and you press the gas pedal - ideal would be about 2000-2200 revs...

Easley start to release pressure from the clutch pedal while holding your foot on the gas pedal. At the moment where you feel that the car is putting pressure while going reverse - start to release the emergency break. IT IS IMPORTANT AT THIS MOMENT TO BALANC YOUR GAS PEDAL PRESURE. And you'll be free in no time.

More experience drivers are able to do this in a meter of seconds.

He means that with the parking break engaged, you can let off the brake in order to balance the clutch and gas pedals to find the friction point. Once you get engagement, you can start easing off the clutch as you apply more gas... the pull is the opportune time disengage the parking break.
