Default Keyless entry remote signal kind of weak?

Is anyone having a problem with the signal strength of the keyless entry remote. I have noticed I have to be with at least 15 feet of the car for it to work and even closer for the windows to roll down. I have a 1998 Maxima SE and I can be way over 100 feet away. I would just like to know if anyone else's is the same way. If so it might be made that way. I haven't spoken to the dealer yet but I might at a later time.

I've used it from at least 40 feet away....doesn't always work from that far...usually within 30 it's fine.

Touch the fob to your head; it will work alot farther.

Sounds goofy, I know, but I think your mellon acts like a big antenna. It does work!

Next the activists will be putting diffusion thingys on your key fobs to keep you from getting a brain tumor.

It does help, you're right. I used to have an aftermarket alarm that had a range problem and used to touch it to my chin or head and it helped, lol.

50-60 feet has been no problem. My Acura hardly ever works from that far away . Sometimes I have to be sitting in it for it to work. Nissan seems much better. Haven't tried the head thing but I am going to!

A lot of this has to do with electrostatic interference...i.e. if you are next to a powerplant it won't work as well as if you are in the middle of a field. Also weather conditions seem to have an affect on all remotes.

You know those cheapskates at Nissan are just trying to save some bucks. They put used batteries in your remotes. Put some bunnies in them, touch yourself with the remote, oops, not there, and you'll be just fine.
