my problem with the Z seems to be the clutch...it pops out right at the friction point, so you dont get much control at the friction point...i think once i get that ill be fine though

I completely agree, the only way you can learn and be efficient is to practice. I just wanted to post a helpful link for starters, it has some information that will help if its your first time.

Just remember, the Z is a little different to drive than other manual transmissions because it is not cable assisted. Trust me, you can learn to drive any manual transmission in less than a day (perfectly that is). Just practice all situations (i.e. slight hills, reverse, rolling starts, etc...) and you'll get the hang of it. If you don't wanna thrash your own Z and you are learning how to drive a manual, just goto a dealership (where you won't buy the car of course) and practice on their vehicles for a while!!!!

How would you feel if your Z was one of those?

My 350Z is my first manual transmission car. I drove a few of my friends stick shift cars, a few hours here and there, no stalling. But as mentioned before the Z is a little different to drive than other manual transmissions. After 3 days I was driving it smooth, with a few stalls here and there before that. now its like riding a bike, you can never forget.
