What do most dealers use for trade-in values?? According to my dealer who is always full of B.S. , " no dealers on the east coast use Kelly's Blue Book" According to them they use a black book ..... Is this true or just more of their B.S. in order to try and rip me off??If anyone can help me out that would be greatly appreciated.

 

I've had a dealer tell me that, too, but I don't really know what the black book is. Plus, they go by the trade-in value so they can sell it at the retail value and make money.

according to consumer advocate Clark Howard, the black book is crap used to show you a smaller number and rip you off.

Dealers, banks and credit unions will use this as well. My credit union users this.

 

The Black Book is basically a wholesaler book with wholesale pricing. If course the dealer is going to use it.
