Default New info concerning mileage....

...at delivery. I received the following info from my dealer this week. He says,
"We just got out of our
morning meeting. We received a memo Nissan had
prepared concerning the Z. It addresses concerns by
new owners that there was mileage on their odometers.
Nissan says that all the cars are being test driven
by their engineers before leaving Japan. This is a
quality assurance measure. It stated the newly
delivered cars will have between twenty to
seventy-five miles on them. "

This is supposedly later info than when discussed in a previous thread on mileage at delivery. Any substance to this info?

I'd like to see that one in writing. Better yet etched into some sort of rock or stone for us all to see

I don't have a Z yet but I wouldn't tolerate that much mileage on any car not to mention a Z.

and here it is
"qoute ZISME "

These vehicles are going through an enhanced level of QC. This in some cases will cause higher miles on the vehicle when delivered....

< 10 miles Quality Assurance (100% of production)
> 10 miles Re-test to confirm any repair or adjustment (< 10% approx.)
40 + miles Exhaust emissions check (1% of production)

This is before it leaves the plant....there will be a few miles added for loading/unloading at the ports....

im SUCH A NICE GUY

As a follow up to this, I was at my nissan dealer today getting my 2k Sentra SE checked out. Saw the dealer got a Z in and the techs were crawling all over it. I wouldn't be surprised if they took it out for a spin...

My dealer here in Indiana read me the same memo yesterday morning when he called me for my weekly update. There might be something to it. It would be reassuring if ZISME or someone else from NNA could confirm. I'm going to try to get a copy of the memo if I can.

i personally saw the odo on a recently delivered one in chicago...you ready? 120 miles. i would be livid if that was my car, especially if i waited a year for it.

Mine had 8 or 9 miles on it. With my tranny problem I now wish they had put a few more QC miles on it.
