Default Real HP or BS?

I have a question to all of you who have ugraded your Z. Have you actually dyno tested the car before and after? The reason I ask is an article I read in tuner mag a while back. They took a pre-production Z (before the car was avalible in north america) and tried to do the "first tune on the new Z car". What they found was that putting on Porsche free flow exchaust, an after market "free flow" intake (for the J spec Skyline) and a custom header, actually droped the peak power by 13 HP! Their concusion was "damn Nissan did a good job on this car". I want to get my stock Z above 300 HP, and I'm looking for proven not hyped power addons. I don't want to void my warranty, or blow a bunch of money right now (I just bought the car and there is not a lot left in the bank). Any suggestions?

If you're looking for mods that won't void your warranty, you're looking at Nismo S-Tune mods installed by Nissan dealerships.

Please, don't start another "what voids the warranty" debate...

I believe you're referring to the Sport Compact Car if I remember it right...
don't worry, you can find a chart of the before/after data on most aftermarket exhaust now... but I just can't find it... anyone wanna post it up?

yeah your best bet would be the Nismo S-tune mods.

"Engineered for the enthusiast that drives on the street. These parts feature credible, measured increases in performance and an additional feature that the aftermarket can't touch. Each S-tune part is covered by the Nissan Parts and Accessories Limited Warranty."

Then if I were you I would go Nismo S tune exhaust, some kind of cats ( cats wont void your warranty other then the exhaust which doenst matter ) and a JWT pop charger. Then you could swap it out if you have a problem.

That will put you over 300 flywheel HP.

But the bottom line is if you want power, and real power gains, say bye to your warranty.
