Amplifer suggestions please. Have everything except the AMP...
I need some audiophiles expert opinions please.....
I am somewhat of a newbie on car audio.....and am in the process of upgrading my speakers and amp in my 04 Touring
Z ROADSTER.
I, like others have done, am planning on keeping the stock Bose 6 CD Changer head unit.......and changing the front and rear speakers and adding a new sub.
Ok....so far here is what I have purchased (nothing is installed yet):
1) Fronts: MB QUART PCE 216 6.5" 2-way components.
2) Rears: MB QUART RCE 216 6.5" 2-way component / coaxial system....was going to go coaxial with the rears
3) Infinity Basslink....10inch subwoofer, with built in 200watt amp in the stock sub space
4) Audiolink Line-out converter
5) Amplifer to drive the fronts and rears...what kind? what brand? .....that is the question.
Now then....all I need is an AMPLIFER to drive the MB Quart fronts and rear speakers....
I was chatting with someone at a stereo place and he said to get the most powerful amp I could afford.....something like a 700watt 4 channel.
I need some help....what do you guys suggest I buy for the above setup.....I heard KICKER and R. FOSGATE are good amps.
Also, remember....I have a ROADSTER, so with top down driving I need some extra juice to hear the music.
Note:
If some of you have seen or read Frankmusic's setup (another Z
board member), that is exactaly what I plan on doing.
Your suggestions and comments are appreciated,
Thanks,
Ant

I don't know too much about car audio, but I can share what I've learned. As far as brand goes, you can never go wrong with JL, specifically the Slash series. I myself have a Memphis that I'm about to install. Before anyone can really recommend a model, though, they'd need to know how many ohms everything you have is. For instance, I got my amp before my subs. My amp can only do 2 ohms, so when I got my JL subs, I had to get the D2s (2 ohms). If I had gone with the 500/1 JL amp, I would've gotten the D6s (6 ohms).
