Backing my car into the garage - real smart!
well considering i live in corona california 440 miles away from turner nissan and only driving in southern california now i dont think anyone is going to bother trying to go to turner nissan in my area, they arent crazy like my family
Instead of the tennis ball that looks goofy, I use a scrap end of a 2x4 laid on the concrete. I mark the location it needs to be with a piece of tape for when I move it out of the way to sweep, etc.
As long as you don't fly into the 2x4, it doens't move around, and is a good stop point. Just roll up to it lightly until you feel it, then push the clutch in and you roll off slightly and stop.

Easy solution:
2) hang a tennis ball on a string attached to the ceiling such that the ball just touches your rear windshield...now everytime you park your car u just have to back up until the ball touches the window and u're done

Oh, and you can put some empty boxes back there so you hit the box before the wall. Or hang a wide angle mirror on top corner of the wall.
i do rouxeny's idea. when I line myself up next to the table in our garage.. i'm at the perfect spot. I park my car in the garage backwards a lot. just gotta practice and watch your side mirrors. Once u get the hang of it, its actually easier.. well for me anyways

Been backing mine in for over a year (only eight inched away from my wife's Explorer). Have the tennis ball hit the rear window right over the Z on the crossbar. When you back up you will see the Z reflecting in the rear window. Simply dock the ball to the Z. One other good tip is to at night turn off the Auto Dim on the rearview mirror before backing in.

I probably have a smaller garage than all of you.
I nailed fender covers from summit racing (they are used to put on fenders to prevent scratching car when working on engines). Anyway, I nailed two of those to my wall. Thick towels will work too to prevent damaging your door. That way you can open your door without worrying.
To prevent driving into the wall, I got a 5lb weight (plate) and set it on the floor so I know when to stop pulling in the garage. My tire hits it and I know I'm in (thats what she said
)
Then I click the homelink button and the garage closes
My idiot friend drove his '01 mustang gt through my garage last week (started with clutch out, apparently safety switch wasnt working on his car). He came an inch from having the garage nail my z. Thank god I park far enough in
