Well, Thursday is the big day. I am taking my Roadster to XX Tuning (Wethersfield, CT) for my stereo install. I just wanted to mention it in cas any of the local guys want to drop by. I should be there all day.

I got nowhere else to go in Wethersfield so I am going to hang out, watch, and take pictures. If anyone wants to drop by we can liven up the place. Thursday is their late day, so they are open until 8PM (so drop by after work). We will probably be there ALL day since Mike estimated 12 hours for the install.

Maybe we can get some pizza around dinner time. (of course I won't have a car so this plan may depend on the kindness of others)

To my 2004 Silverstone Touring Roadster I will be adding
Audiolink line out converter
Alpine 4x65 Amp
Infinity 62.5 front speakers
Infinity 6002i rear speakers
Infinity basslink in stock location
Dynamat like material (tm)

Mike estimated 12 hours for the intall. Yikes. But I guess we will be basically stripping most of the interior from the front gauges to the trunk moulding. I'll try to get as many pictures as I can while staying out of his way.

The basslink will fit where the bose belongs? that's a great idea! Will you be using the bose speaker grill over that compartment? Why not change the headset?

 

I can not take credit for the "basslink in the stock location" idea. I saw someone else on this board do it and thought it was cool.

As for the head unit, I have a convertible so I am avoiding any visible BLING in the dash (for now). I figure nobody will break in to steal a Bose POS. 8*)

Also, I have already spent like $1,000 on parts. I am going to try out the system with the Bose. If I am still unhappy, replacing the HU will be the next (easy) upgrade. Besides the stock HU is an in-dash 6-CD changer which is sort of convenient.

I am not trying for "show quality" sound. I just can't stand the Blose sound.

Sounds like quite the install. I'd love to see it as it happens, but there's no way I could get the day off on such short notice...oh well. (BTW: Isn't April 7th a Wednesday?)
