Default After market XM radio installation

Has anyone installed the XM radio via after market installation?

According to all pics I've seen, looksl like you end up with a big wart on the top of the Z with a cord visible through the passenger window.

Any suggestions/ideas would be helpful.

Thanks.

I have my antenna on the rear strut tower brace. Works probably 90% of the time. Rushguy, that probably works even better though! I would personally not put it on my car just from the look factor.

I also have my antenna discretely mounting off to side on the rear strut brace. Mine works 99% of the time even in my totally underground garage. I live in LA, so I think we have lot of ground repeater coverage...better than most areas. Per asthetic reasons, I would never mount my antenna where it could easily be seen, such as the roof or the dashboard. PM me if you want a pic....I'll have to take one.

I HAD A CUSTOM PIECE BUILT WHERE THE NAVIGATION SYSTEMS SETS. IN FACT, I TRADED IN MY COUPE FOR THE CONVERTIBLE IN DECEMBER AND I KEPT ALL OF IT. I CAN SEND PICS TO YOU OR YOU CAN EVEN HAVE IT. THE GLASS PIECE IS NICE AND FITS PERFECTLY IN THAT SPACE

Would love to see what you find out. All these replys are about the coupe. I have the roadster touring like yourself. So far the dashboard mount seems like the best idea. Just curious about the rest of the hardware needed. Gotta have my Sirius!

Yea my pic at the top of the thread is from my roadster. Personally I think the antenna looks great there, honestly I don't use regular radio and I bet you could buy the other style XM antenna and have it mounted in the stock location somehow.
