need ADVICE on affording Rims.
I need some advice on affording rims.
I wanna ask my parent, but I feel So bad asking them for anything now. and this time, i really wanna get this by my own.
because they helped me so much getting my Z and still helping me with it.
cant get bank loan, and just got my first credit card. so i can only charge $600 a month.
Is there any other way to buy rim?? something like monthly pay?
I really want this rim and saving 3500 will take me forever.
advices?????

Yeah, theres shops that do financing on wheels. You make monthly payments. But dont expect no 1.9 APR.

omg. your parents bought you the car. I'm with everyone else...don't push it. If you really want wheels, get a job and SAVE up. It may take you months, but at least you earned it. How many ppl at your age have a Z? I'm not hating on you at all, you are lucky to have such great parents....

I'd say not to waste your money on rims. If you can't afford it in cash, don't bother looking to finance or anything. If you really want them, I'd suggest getting a job and saving up. Don't forget that tires are expensive, too, so include that into your price (about $1,000 for 19" Michelin Pilot Sports).
Edit: Do NOT use your credit card to finance anything (especially something that you can do without). You'll find yourself in debt in no time and the rims will probably end up costing 3x as much as you planned with all the interest you'll have to pay.

Yeah, agree...
When we were buying my car, I put downpayment of 7500.
It's not that much. but it took me a year to get that money.
I started saving it up since Feburary 2003 and got Z on christmas 2003. i know how hard it is. I actually couldnt do anything during saving time.
SO i just needed some advices from all the older Z buddies!!

Im in the same boat as you lemon, I want wheels but I put a large down payment on my Z. I had Advan Model 5s in bright chrome 18s on my TL-S, sold them for $2000 w/tires and dropped the extra 2gs on my down payment. I got my Z in February, but I really want to initialize my Z and wheels do that perfectly. Not to mention a z with Veilside V1 kit, and stock wheels would look funny. I am actually getting my extended warranty money back and might put that towards wheels but most likely I will just save for a couple of months and then make the decision. And when buying wheels make sure you get the wheels that you really want and not some that youve settled for, it will make you happier in the end, and I always try to do it right the first time

well, I can sugest you a store in New Jersey called Action Tire. http://www.actiontire.com/corporate.htm I bought two sets of wheels from them using their credit card. You can try calling them and applying for that card. If you get aproved 1st three months there is no interest and after that there is some interest. I am pretty sure there are other stores that have some kind of program like this. I saw some website that sells wheels and they were offering same kind of deal. Try searching internet if ActioTire doesn't work for you.

agree with everything stated above...
but something you might want to consider, given your budget, is powerder coating. I notice you've got a white Z... you could easily get your stock rims powdercoated bronze, gold, gunmetal or black for about 600 bucks...
although this won't replace a new set of rims, you'll still be able to "customize" your Z given your budget
