Default Going to test 1/4miles tonight

I am planning to goto Houston Raceway Park tonight, I have 1500miles on the car and I think it's pretty much broken-in already. I will post result afterward..

If you are around Houston area, maybe I can see you guys there!

Well well...

After 3 runs, I only managed to get best time of 14.65@98Mph. It turned out that my VDC/TCS was turned on! I had it turned off but when I restart the engine, it automatically turn on, and I forgot to check it. So, I guess it's not too bad with VDC/TCS on.

I think I can shave another 0.3 - 0.4 sec with VDC/TCS off. I didn't get a chance to run again, so I don't know what the result would be. Maybe next time.

Also, I weighted the car, with me in it, total weight of the car was 3446lbs. I weight about 150lbs.

This is the Performance model..

Need more info...

Since you didn't turn off VDC, I take it you didn't warm the tires up in the pool. What was your 60ft time? With that trap speed I'm going to guess around 2.5-2.7? Also, what did you rev to before launch?

Default Apexi... very sweeeet

Great pictures of your Z at the track.. and you must have had a ball... envy you testing this out..

Your lineup against a Z06.... well, I can honestly say... your car looks better... not to worry... mods are on the way -- the tuners in Japan are busy..

well, i raced again tonight. I did worst tonight than my first time out... I only got 14.585 vs 14.35 the first time

here are the number for tonight. at Hawaii Raceway Park

I had lots of tire spin, launch at 2000 or so rpm and instead of dumping the clutch the first time , I slipped it in..didn't do so way. About 3 times I missed 3rd gear...i don't know why...it wouldn't go in... ok numbers

reaction .650
60 ft 2.191
1/8 et 9.416
1/8 mph 76.02
1/4 et 14.585
1/4 mph 95.53

got's to improve 60ft time
find a better way to launch
take some pics
I'm thinking about replacing the clutch and flywheel with a clutchmaster stage 4
any advice is welcome..

Thanks. I have driven my 96 Integra Turbo on that track, but it was heavily modified with slicks. It was running in the high 12's. The track is pretty good, has lots of VHT on it, so it actually hooked up. I don't know what the Vette did, but it was very fast!

I am guessing in the 12's. There were lots of vettes there. Lots of Z06. It was pretty cool!

I will get my timeslip from my GF and post it later

Congrats.

Now we need a couple Z's out there and see if we can get them to run each other.

Here it is:

R/T - .875
60' - 2.303
330 - 6.317
1/8 - 9.580
MPH - 76.56
1000 -12.338
1/4 - 14.656
MPH - 97.15

Air Temp = 87 degrees

I was launching around 5000 rpm, slip the clutch, and shift around 6600rpm.

There were no other 350Z on the tarck, other than the Z06
Lots of looks, ahh and wow...and lots of photo was taken. Overall, I think it was a great experience.

I doubt I will go again withouth major modification. Either computer chip, supercharger, turbocharger, or nos. But it won't be before factory warranty expires...

Well, your 60ft was still better than I predicted, but you could probably pull a 1.8-1.9 with a perfect launch and a hook up. Did you practice launching before hitting the track? The general concensus for those I've spoken to is 2K, drop the clutch and feather the throttle to not get too much wheelspin.

Otherwise, wheelspin city... Geez, I can't wait to see what more experience will yield out of this car.
No offense guys... 14.3s are embarrassing. I've watched bone stock Type-Rs run 14.2s.
Yes VDC was accidentally turned on.. read previous posts..

Nothing to be embarrassed about, I am just there to have fun, not to race anyone.. 14.2 with slick's probably. fwd are harder to launch to get a good 60' time. I had one before.

No, didn't practice launching before I was there, and with VDC on, it actually boggs down when you press the accelerator pedal, the car is trying to slow down to get traction. Need more practice..

All you need to do is work on your 60's and get them down to about 2.0. VDC probably hurt your launches! The trap speeds arent very impressive IMO, about the same as the 2k2 Maxima and Altima 3.5.
