Okay, one of my pet peeves is getting a car with a place holder for a button. You know what I mean. That little non-functional plastic..it drives me nuts.
Scaf took some great shots of the inside of a 350z and I see one in the center console...anyone have an idea as to it's function? Ejector seat? Oil slick spray? Rocket launcher? License plate switcher? Martini maker...shaken, not stirred?
Thanks in advance for any insight.

That place holder button is interesting, particularly because we're looking at a Touring model- one would think that the Touring model (which has all of the bells and whistles) would not have any place holders- Perhaps then this button is for a feature intended for a non-US market Z---? Not quite sure what that might be though---?

Because the antenna is not retractable, it must be the button which allows the antenna to disappear (as in the Nissan Pics) or maybe that’s where the forgotten fog light switch goes. Who Knows?

Actually Jay, I think you might be on to something...
Maybe that's where the button will go to control the convertable top next year....

I noticed that in the Japanese Z page, it seems that you can buy side windows that would automatically dip down when you go in reverse (for parallel parking), and mirrors that would fold-in when you are in park (so people would not stick their sides into them). Since this is next to the window control, perhaps this could be for the outside mirror control. (ponder)

Well I am glad to see that this discussion as garnered some real deep comments.
Anyways...I guess we may never know...but I came to a similar conclusion as Ethan...it may be a Japanese market item...but that begs the question-what could it do?
heuge & blueshift,
Those are not window control buttons it is next to, they are the heated seat controls
Perhaps it's an optional chair massage just for the Euro/Asian markets? We should get AudioPat to ask that sales rep guy whol claims 305HP are the actutal figures.

My guess: it's a lock-out for the electric windows.

yuh see, when you push that button it turns a car into a friggin rocket ship...rockets come out of the rear tail lamps, light speed jets come out of the rectangular back up/side blinkers, out of the rocket panels comes two large wings, and the rear hatch does a special flipping thing too, so the huge rear strut brace can double as a wing as well!
