114k dollars a year!!!!! Is that really how much they make? That is RIDICULOUS!!
There are thousands of resident doctors making 35k a year saving lives and risking there own while working 80-90 hour work weeks! I think I chose the wrong profession. I should have just gotten my GED, ditched undergrad and med school and worked at the docks. I could have lived off 50k a year and had 500k in the bank right now!
Oh well, I guess that's crying over spilled milk. I'm just glad my Z is on a truck to my dealer right now and not still stuck in the port.

Yeah, I just learned this today. Pretty amazing, eh? And that's just the tip of the iceberg with all the special laws, union contracts, and so on that basically give them 4-hour workdays.

Those stupid longshoremen... they had the best thing going and now the whole world knows that they're crying because $100k just wasn't cutting it. To unload a boat.

Unions get an amazing amount of prtection by the Gov...I completely agree wit you they are making fools of thierselves and opening the nations eyes....other then opperating the cranes (it is amazingly complicated) there are really no high skilled labor needed to unload a ship.....amazing how whe world works.

As I understand it, they've offered the Unions raises and to add $1 billion to a pension fund, only to have the offer turned down based on the "new technology" concerns of the union in relation to job security.

From what I've read, much of the new tech they are so concerned about is bar code tracking. Can you imagine that? How far behind the times are they?

Good news: Got my VIN today!!!!

Bad news: Nissan says my Z is stuck on a boat in the middle of the Pacific until they fix this dock worker problem.

Hopefully Bush steps in and puts these morons back to work.
