I just bought my Z a few days ago.
This break-in period is killing me also. I find myself taking it for a spin every chance I get just to get some miles on it. I also haven't been a good boy. A modded civic pulled up next to me at a light last night.... I look over and he's staring right at me... This is where I conveniently forgot about the break in period, gave him the nod...... waited for the light to change... I blew him off the line so hard it didn't take him long to stop trying... then I felt bad for abusing my baby just to smoke some crappy civic... as my heart was pounding...
The car drives like a dream. Unfortunately, right when it starts getting good - SHIFT! Doh! This is the first new car I've ever bought, so I had better take care of it??? Right?

Can anyone point me to some further reading on this subject?? The search engine isn't working and I had to go through 3 pages just to find this thread.....
Has anyone not obeyed the rule of thumb and notice any degradation of performance?? I hope that little incident last night didn't hurt anything. Maybe I'm just paranoid... but I want to read more about this.

Breaking In
Got my 04 up to 110 after 400 miles - just for seconds on the expressway. Have 1700 on it now - and it still runs! It was in 6th gear - so no high rpm.
I did notice after about 1000 miles the clutch really didnt seem so tight - and much easier shifting, It's drivig better every day! (or is it the driver??)
