Weak Windshields?
#22
Count me in- After having the car for about 2 weeks, I noticed
a tiny chip in the windshield which drove me nuts. But it doesn't bother me anymore, because last month at about 3500 miles,
a pebble hit the windshield, and within a day, the crack was about 6 inches across I had it replaced, hopefully for the last time!!!!

Windshield
I have never had to replace a windshield before, but tomorrow I am getting a new one. A small chip turned into a 6 inch crack. When I spoke to my glass guy he stated that the brand of windshields, in our cars, is actually a Korean aftermarket type. It looks as though Nissan chose to use cheap aftermarket windshields instead of creating their own. I believe that the ppg windshields are far better than the oem glass. Too bad I have a $500 deductible, thanks Nissan.

I had my windshield replaced on my Roadster too after have the car for about 2 months. I saw a crack about 5 inches long and 7 inches wide. Like a "L" shape. I took it to the dealer and they told me its not cover by warranty. I really don't know what cause the crack. I did see any impact point.
Any way dealer wanted to charge me over $800 for the windshield and $185 for labor.
I called Windshield Pro's and they came to my work and fix it for $299.
They used PPG which is OEM for Nissan windshields.

We I guess I'm not alone and it's not my bad luck
I have definitely learned that I'm getting that PPG glass when this one has been scared a few more times.
I know I'm **** about my car like many of you, but I do believe that as some one said before that this car does chip, dent etc very easily. You would think as technology improves they would be able to make a car that can with stand a little unavoidable abuse.
I still love my Z, but I just hate looking at all the imperfections that keep adding up.
