Default performance vs enthusiast

i can save 2-3k by getting an enthusiast.. the only option that makes a difference to me is the VDC..

is this a necessity? is the enthusiast traction control that much inferior?

i know what the vdc felt like when it kicked in.. what does the enthusiast feel like when it slips?

You get a dashboard light that comes on that says TCS and the car seems to correct itself and stops the wheel slipping.

If you don't drive around doing stupid **** all the time, VDC isn't a necessity. The only time I've ever wished my Enthusiast had it was in a nasty blizzard after a bunch of freezing rain on an unplowed road that only a couple of people had driven on already. Unless you really want the wheels, or have some other reason to get the Performance (like the color's better), I say save the money.

I don't know, how did you wreck the last one?

I went with the Enthusiast, I don't believe in these systems for me. But for some people they are probably a good idea.

toykilla...

I rarely drive my car and not cut off the VDC. However, I almost never drive it in inclimate weather conditions either.

I have a Base, which doesn't have the TCS or VDC and I've never lost control or felt uneasy driving (only about hydroplaning) in inclimate weather. I'd say go with the Enthusiast and save the money. By the way, I drive a lot in the Florida thunderstorms.
