if 300hp bump comes mostly from ecu mods will that mean nissan/nismo is likely to sell these ecu upgrades for 2003/2004 zs?

I know for sedan owners who have 2003-2003.5 sedan auto can get their transmission ecu updated to the newer 2004 which works more like the coupe and Z in MM mode and dealership has to tools for it all you do is ask and show the parts number and stuff. Some dealers do it some might not.

Default More Revving?

Is there any chance that the extra power (if there is some) will come from a slighty higher rev-limit? I would love to see the Z hit 7000. I beleive they achieved that on the GT version.

hmm... peak hp on the z is at 6200rpm. the current rev limiter is set at 6600rpm. logically, the faster the engine is moving, the more power it should generate. i don't totally understand why a car's peak hp is not at the point of the highest possible rpm. i could google for the answer, but i'm too lazy right now.

I was getting a quote from a dealer and they didnt have what I wanted and suggested I order one. They also told me that I can order a 2005 by the end of next month. When I asked what is special in the new one, they replied "just some interior modifications and an option to buy yellow Z?". I dont know how much truth this holds but again im ordering, would they still lie?

so did your dealer act like he knew what he was saying or just making it up as he went along?

the interior upgrades seem inline with the new G but i still say they wiil match the G 295 or up to 300

Actually i havent. Can you post a link to the video/pics?

Actually a 'she' (which i must say, should come with the Z) lol. She said that I could order a 2005 Z if I wanted to but besides the yellow and some interior mods they (nissan) is getting rid of some type of paint. I didnt understand what type of paint?

BTW she also said that there might be slight/no price increase, that also suggests no hp increase

I think the main thing is air. You have to move a lot of air through an engine to burn all that fuel, the faster the revs the more air. As the revs go up, the engine eventually becomes air-starved. That's why intake mods are one of the first things most people do to increase power.
