Glad I'm not the only one having problems. I tried to import the *.3ds file and got nothing at all. It went through all the steps during the import but nothing appeared. It is very possible that I don't know what I'm doing with the *.3ds file. Perhaps posting a *.dwg would be a little easier for us poor AutoCAD guys. It's also good to see people with more free time than me LOL. Thanks for the help Rocker_lx.

I don't have 3ds so I couldn't test if the export worked, I will try to make a DXF or wavefront obj file.

Hey that actually looks pretty good rocker. I like the way it's tubbed out for those really big wheel and tire combos. Good job and thanks for the help.

Be warned it is really a sh*tty model.

I made it with Lightwave 7.5, it has also no wheels or interior. I also converted it to 3DS format which is unfortunately over 9000 Polys heav. Perhaps someone can use it as template for a better version.

The 3ds version.

Ok.. I finally got it into Maya after trying many different exporters and locking up the machine a few times.. 3D Max and Maya don't like running together..

Well, at any rate, I have it in there now, and after using our proprietary plugin to exprt, I found that it chewed up the model pretty good... I will have to go in and completely redo mosts all of it.. You did a very nice job on it though. And it will be more than suffice to make a more precise and cleaner version of it for use in other applications..

I will also make some wheels and other details for it as well.

-D'oh!

It's a first person shooter-style game called Mob Enforcer (I think) as that was the code name, and maybe it is actually going to be called that in the end.. A 1920's prohibition, al capone, chicago head bustin game..

It's a ValueSoft title, which basically means, that we only get 6 months to make it, instead of 2 years, and it goes to WalMart, Target, FredMeyer, KMart, ...places like that.. Fortunatley the market is great at those places, and the games usually end up selling like crazy! I think the price is like 20 bucks or so.. Check it out in like 3 or 4 weeks!

One of ValueSoft's games "IwoJima" sold like 200,000 copies and it SUCKS!!!!!!!!! The crappiest game ever.. You shoot the same damn character through the whole game.. It's lame..

I am the character artist/animatior so all I do all day is work on the people that are going to be in the game and make sure that they are not too repetitious.

I also made all of us here at work the characters.. So, when you see them in game, you are actually looking at the employees here! hahaha

We actually are done with it this friday!!!!!!!!! and ship GoldMaster off to get approved and dubbed for dispersal ) -Hence my getting all next week off to work on the Z!!!
