Default Z praises!

Some of the regional forums have sightings threads. Maybe we should have a thread about what compliments (or other comments, I guess) our babies have gotten.

Today, I was at the gas station, and this guy whistled at my baby and asked me how much I loved her. He's a domestic muscle car kinda guy (he's had a Vette and a Mustang GT), but he was no hater. I was so proud.

I was at a gas station today (too) and a guy there said "Nice car. I bet it goes like a rocket."

One time at a gas station.....

I always pay at the pump when I get gas. One time after I was done, no reciept came out and it said "Reciept inside" on the pump. So I go inside and talk to the attendant. We talked for about 5 minutes about the Z before he gave me my reciept. Apparently he hit something on his end just so he could talk to me!! Nice!

i don't have a z but one time i was in my wrx like a week after i bought it and this delivery truck driver went off about how he liked my car while i was stopped at a light. that was the first--and last--time a complete stranger ever showed any interest whatsoever in my wrx.

I would not show any interest in a WRX.

I have never been honked at more in my life than I have with this Z. Whenever I am at a red light people honk to get me to roll the window down, they want to see me burnout when the light turns green. Yesterday at a gas station as i was pumping up the tires, a guy came over who had a 240z back in the day. I had to clean the glass after he drooled all over her. He even said that he just dropped 25k into restoring his 74 vette and that he now wished he would have used that money to get a Z instead. I thanked him for the compliment but had to disagree. I love this car but would take a renovated 74 vette over the Z anyday.

I was at a Taco Bell drive-thru earlier this week, girl handed me my food and drink and said, "Straw's in the bag...cool car!"

So simple it perfectly sums up people's reaction to the car. Best part is that there was a Mustang convertible behind me in the drive-thru and I thought, I bet she doesn't say anything to that guy...

Best comments I ever got were from a guy driving a loaded Corvette Z06. Pulled up beside me at the car wash while I was drying it off and gushed for 10 minutes about how much he loved it.

Funniest comment I ever got was from my 10-year old cousin. She pulled into my driveway with my aunt the week after I got the Z, took one look at it and spontaneously yelled out "WHOA....COOL CAR!" (up to that point, nobody else in the family knew I bought it).

That reminds me of my dad's reaction. I was going to see him a week after I got the Z so I decided not to say anything about it and surprise him.

I was standing with my uncle in his driveway and my dad pulls up, gets out of his car and says to my uncle "Who's Z is that?" My uncle pointed at my, and my dad began to turn his head, only he goes right past me looking for someone else. When he saw no one else was there, he turned back to me with the most shocked look I've ever seen and said "You?!" only he just mouthed it because he was speechless. I practically had to scrape his jaw off the driveway. And just a few days ago, about 6 months later, he again said that he was jealous of my car.

At a gas station a guy in a Sentra said he'd like to trade cars with me. I told him I would trade gas bills with HIM. He declined, so did I.

I don't know why... guess it was because who said it... but this was the coolest compliment I've had on my car yet.

At a recent car show, an older gentleman (probably in his late 60's) walks up to my Z as I'm doing some final detailing. He makes one lap, takes a long look under the hood, the walks over to me and says in a hushed tone... "Man, I bet this thing would outrun its own shadow, wouldn't it?" Not the comment I was expecting from someone whose probably seen lots of hot cars come and go. Just thought it was really cool.

Another time at a gas station I hear screaming and look up and see a girl running toward me (actually running toward my car). She's shouting "I love your car, can I sit in it?" I let her and all this time she's rambling about how she's going to buy a Z when she gets out of college next year. Then the thought occurs to me that my wife passes this gas station on her way from work. I almost had to drag this girl out of the car. I hope she gets her Z one day.

The best is the reaction from little kids playing in the street, they are so honest and have no quams about their feelings -- "Wow, i love that car man". They always make me laugh. I get responses from i'd say 80 % of the people who see my car, and all are positive. My girlfriend loves that. She thinks that is the best part about the car. She's no car slouch, she knows her stuff, and she loves the Z.

I was in NYC a few weeks ago at a fancy schmancy hotel, figuring the valet guys have probably seen every type of nice ride in manhattan- as I'm getting in the car to leave, three of the valets
run over, checking it over inside and out- "wow, that's nice- WHAT kind of car is that again?" - another time I'm riding by a
bunch of kids on the corner (13 years old, I guess)- they all
start screaming at the top of their lungs "WE LOVE YOUR CAR"
- man, this car is like Beatlemania sometimes, the way it garnishes
the praise, stares, and outright LOVE from people!!!

I am stilled amazed at the amount of attention my Z gets.
I sit and talk to people in parking lots or gas stations that want to have a closer look all the time. I`ve even let people sit in in while I`m pumpimg gas, and not just cute girls either!

Yup. There was this time 2 blondies (in their 30s?) told me "nice car" while I was driving out of my office's parking structure.

I think girls dig this car more than guys?...or guys are just too cocky to show their envy...
