Integra Type R or 350Z
Hi people,
I need some advice,
Have been driving a Integra Type R (In your region, Acura type- R)for pass 2 years, when I first set my eyes on a 350Z I fell in love...
I'm really confused if I should sell my beloved DC 5 type R,
and get a Z...
after reading your nice forum, there seems to be lotsa complians with the Z, my Q is it is worth it?
I'm writing from Singapore and the prices of cars here is no joke.
a JDM Z( Base model) cost like 80 grand USD, and a the local Nissan agent(ST version) sells it for 90 grand USD!
Here are some points,
3.5 Vs 2L
road cost 2.5 K (Z) vs 0.8K (Type R) in USD
Seating 2 vs 2+2.
1.5 ton Vs 1.1 ton weight. ( BTW, my Type R has 260 Hp, full Mugen upgrade, but 2 years old)
Insurance cost 2.3K both.
FR Vs FF
V6 Vs Vtech
Nissan Vs Honda
Stock Vs Full Mod.
Can anyone help!
Cheers!

ok the RSX (honda) in no way compares to the 350Z. the car has no low end torque and is just in all other class under the Z. as far as looksand affordability that up to you. a little inside info is that honda is changing the RSX (type-R) for 2005. so that means your car will look even older. they arnt upgrading the power
as far as the money goes. does it even out ? meaning is your income vs cost of living different than ours.
what im saying is would it be like some here in the usa buying a honda nsx or a viper?
by the way how much are other cars over their ....bmw benz or other high dollar stuff.
if everything is so expensive what does everyone drive?

the type R has a fair amount of power... 220 is it? or 240. super light too. but true, no low end torque.
you say the Z is 90k, how much is the ITR? Im assuming thats not 30k like it would be here either. or is nissan just expensive.
handling vs acceleration. only you can decide that.

He has a JDM DC5 Type-R. My friend's shop had one here in Cali before it was sold to a customer. That car is different from an RSX Type-S, the Type-S is a relative pig compared to the Type-R. Considering the cost of the Z, I would keep the Type-R...i think it's an excellent car to drive.

ITR can be are is fast. No low end power but hellova high end power. I know this guy with a rsx-r engine in a type s and it huals ***. Breaks traction easily in 1st and 2nd gear. Not to mention a few mod for the rsx and it can pull low 14s just like us.

Probably explains why all the asian foreign students at USC (i work there) drive in bimmers and benzes...there is a black SL55 in the compact spaces of our parking structure (apparently he doesn't care very much, he looks 19 and kind of dorky)...to their parents, $125k for a benz is cheap.

Heck, but you are right. I have a friend who goes to USC and he drives 2004 Mercedes E500.
j/kWell, import cars are expensive in Asia, but the case in Singapore is just the extreme. SL55 AMG in Korea is about $180k, about 50% more than it's original price. It still sux, but not that bad like Singapore.
