Default Window Questions 350z

The past month my driver's side window has been a major headache. When i try to roll up the window it goes up then goes down about 2 inches. I have to hold the window up switch for like 15 seconds for it to stay up. And now it is starting to not even respond to that... Now the window is stuck in the up position when opening and closing the door (You know that little feature the Z has when it drops the window when u open the door and raises it when u close it to protect the paint?).

I have gone to my dealer and they say it is not covered under warranty and that my car alarm (Viper) is probably interfering with it. Sounds like complete bull. [NOTE: I put in the car alarm about 7 months ago when I bought the car.]

Ever since I have had my Z, I take it to the dealer and NOTHING IS COVERED UNDER WARRANTY. I just get the run around. Any suggestions on who I should contact or anyone know how to fix the window prob?

Thanks,
One Sad Z Owner

the car has a bumper to bumper warranty, they are BSing you.

Unless you did some mods, in which case dealers can be bitches, but you can always try another

Actually, you can report them to Nissan, but did they accuratl diagnose your car? Or just "guess"?

Take it to another dealer cause the window motor issue is a common issue and unless your aftermarket alarm has a feature of window up/down on the remote, it should be covered under factory warranty. If the alarm you installed has a window up/down feature then the dealership may be correct as the alarm was tapped into the window motor and could be the source of the problem. In that case, take it back to the place that installed the alarm as it should be covered under their warranty.

I have a window question too.

I haven't had my Z long enough to know if this is going to be problematic or not - but the other day I was cruising with the windows rolled down.... it was kind of windy outside.... I got on the highway and I was forced to roll up the windows. The noise it was making was unbelievable. It sounded like a helicopter was trying to land on my car!!! It was so loud it was hurting my ears.

Anyone else notice this?

My roadster is doing it aslo, but only when thet top is up. Makes me think that the sensor to detect object in the window when it is being rolled up is out of aligment or somthing.

happens on all cars zpeed freak. or atleast all cars Ive driven. the air pressure wavers over the window and causes a pulsing feel and sound. if you put your arm across the window it will ussually calm it, but that about it, at high speeds it happens. unavoidable.

the Z is actually better about it than my past cars.

"Did you lean out and look on your roof?"

lol... very funny

Ares:
Thanks for the response.... I know that when you cruise at highway speeds with the windows rollled down.... it's going to be loud in ANY car..... I've cruised with the windows down in every car I've owned (who hasn't?). But honestly.... I've never experienced such an extremely loud noise just from the windows being down. My only explanation is the direction/speed of the wind + the direction/speed of the car + the shape/design of the windows = some serious ear busting noise.

And the owners manual says to keep the windows up while on the highway because it's more fuel efficient to run the A/C. Well no kidding, but they forgot to mention you might go deaf as well! lol

Reavtek, my z just started doing the exact same thing and i have no aftermarket alarms, I am going to take it in to the dealer on Tues. to have them fix it. I would suggest going back to the dealer and put your game face on this time!
