I took over a cancellation order, and I'm being told it'll be here in November, but they haven't even got a VIN yet. Nov is only a month away! It's production should be done, and it should be on a boat now. Takes 3 weeks on a boat, and 7-10days to prepare to be given to buyer, right? So that would conclude Nov Delivery. I'm getting worried!

Anyone with a "W" order number recieve their VIN yet?

 

I took over another's preorder but had a W for my preorder. No VIN.

Not to be a smart *** but remember Nov is 30 days long so it could still be 60 days until you see your car and that could be the reason for no VIN yet.

I think it is still to early to expect a VIN, or at least to expect it from your dealer. My experience with my dealership is that they tend not to know until maybe a week or two in advance. Heck, I didn't get my order number until a week ago. I guess if you want to know bad enough you can try contacting NNA, but rest assured your car/baby is probably already born or is in the process

 

The only way to get the VIN is to bug your dealer. The inventory manager can pull up the reports on his computer. Another thread gives the specific names of the reports. Your dealer is obviously not one of the customer oriented ones that some of the folks on this site have been blessed with, so you will likely get some sort of excuse, but keep pushing. You should be able to at least get the information on the build date, even if the VIN has not been assigned.

 

I preordered in Feb and have "T" tracking number. Getting info from the dealer has been like excavating a ruin with a paintbrush. Quoted delivery month has moved from August to September to October and now into November. Still no VIN, arrrggh.

The shipping schedule shows a boat getting into LA this past weekend and the next one due in mid-October. Not another one affter that until late October so draw your own conclusions. But all of the tracking number and shipping info in the world may be more or less irrelevant. Various threads indicate cars are made in batches by trim level so depending on what you ordered, your car could arrive either sooner or later than your tracking number suggests. Last but not least, the port of LA is shut down as of today so we're all more or less screwed until that gets cleared up.

Not trying to pour any cold water on you, just trying to offer a little perspective. If patience is truly a virtue, many of us on this board should be up for sainthood!

My order number starts with a W and my dealer emailed my vin last week. The expected delivery is the last week Oct or first week Nov.
