I know there have been countless threads on this, but the search feature isn't working.

My Z's idle is getting pretty rough, I'm wondering if I should just be used to it or take it in to get looked at. It's not the regular chatter that worries me, it is that every few seconds there is a deep popping sound -- kind of hard to explain... almost like mini backfires (I hope that makes sense).

Is this normal?

 

Yeeeeshhh...That doesn't sound right. If all else fails, you might try a grounding kit. My idle smoothed out after installing mine.
