If you respect authority and don't mind having somebody tell you what you can or cannot do 24/7, then good luck. Otherwise back out of the deal.

I joined the navy for a six year hitch and did not realize those things about myself until it was too late. I believe whatever doesn't kill you only makes you stronger, but I really hated the military and six years was alot of pain.

Four combat tours with the Marines - two in Viet Nam as an enlisted ANGLICO guy, two in Somalia as the senior air officer of two amphib groups.

Take it from a ex-Navy guy who knows - the Marines are truly the best of the best. Compared to what you will become, others are wannabe's.
