Question rotating tires/wheels with all 8.5's

A guy at Discount Tires says they have put the rear size tires (8.5) on the front of some Z's with sucess. That way they can be rotated front to back on the same side. After removing the spare-tire stud. Other than maybe an adjustment on the front offset, and re-installing the tire pressure sensors, would there be any problems? I saw somewhere a post that the VDC is calibrated for the 8.0 wheel in front (I have a performance model). I sure would like some feedback cause I just picked up a set on Ebay (stock Performance wheels), and was planning to use the rear 8.5's in front when it's time to replace the tires. Thanks and please respond.

as long as the tires are all the same size you can do it.... at the track I use 275/40-17 on 17x9, ET35 wheels... I've never had any traction control problems or and ABS problems. In fact, I have the track wheels/tires on the car right now... and I drove all over Houston yeasterday with no problems (even in the torrential downpours we had here).

by the way.... stock Performance wheels are 18x8 all around.... only the Track model wheel is 18x8.5 in the back

So, you're saying that, since we have a Performance, all we have to do to rotate the wheels/tires front-to-back is to take off the stud that prevents this switch? (Of course, the TPM's would be rotated also, but as long as you know the indicated PSI is for the other wheel, that would be OK.) If that's all we need to do, how does that stud come off?
