Valet parking, Z's worst enemy

Heard similar stories from a friend who valet parked at an elite country club. I think valet parking is the biggest sham. I'm supposed to pay a complete stranger to drive MY car around and park it for me. I've never seen how the convenience comes anywhere close to making up for the risk. Maybe if I was 80 and needed a walker to get to the door.

I worked security at a fairly nice mall in the north burbs of Chicago and one restaurant (whose name shall remain anonymous) has valet parking. These guys were (and probably still are) getting in trouble with the property management and the local police/fire departments. Not only did they constantly have a backup of cars in the firelane, but I personally witnessed them taking cars off of the property and racing the crap out of them. Some guys brought Vipers, Ferraris, Porsches, etc. and I've seen almost all of those cars taken off property and raced.
I've NEVER used a valet service in my life. My friends used to tease me about how paranoid I am about valets, but after I showed a couple what goes on, they quickly understood my wisdom.
I've been thinking about starting a business regarding this nonsense. I'd set up cars loaded with surveilance equipment (I have lots of access to very cool crap with my new job in the security industry) and I'd approach restaurant and mall owners. The idea would be to catch crook valets in the act of stealing personal property, cash, etc. and joyriding. You think owners would even care? I wonder if they'd bother with me.

Nobody was bragging, chill. I was simply using some of my experience to help some current and future Z owners. I was a valet when I was 17-18. I don't care who you are, but if you get your hands on a viper at that age, you WILL race it.
To answer the question about where I could possibly race in NYC. At 3am, between 5th and 7th Avenues is PLENTY of room to drag. All you need is enough ***** to do it in somebody else's car. Hey, 18 will always be the "young-dumb-and-full-of-***" age. NYC or not.

California roll = sushi - Crabstick and avocado rolled reverse with smelt roe.

Yah, it's California Roll, both the sushi and the stop. I knew that California stop didn't quite sound right.
I'm originally from CA, lived 12 years there...now stuck in CT.
Lots of good driving in NY. The Henry Hudson as previously mentioned is nice, both uptown and down around the Intrepid. A few lights, but lots of cops. The FDR is nice too, but full of massive potholes, and usually full of cars. It's a fun drive. In the middle of the night, Manhattan is full of 5 lane, one way boulevards, completely straight, completely flat. Just watch out for the cabbies.
